In the making of these projects we worked in a lot of software packages and mixed a lot of different tech: The software I had a greater hand in was Adobe Flash (Animate), Aftereffects, Adobe Character Animator, Toon Boom Harmony, Resolume Arena 6, NDI and Wirecast. As a 2D animator more familiar with slowly crafting a performance one frame at a time, it was extremely fun to get into a rhythm with the voice actor and just have fun acting. As fun as blending tech and animation is, I really loved puppeteering.

When the world is threatened by an ancient evil, the four adolescent turtles must reunite and overcome their faults in order to stand against it. I puppeteered Donnie and in the pictures, I’m the one in the purple headband. With Chris Evans, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mako, Kevin Smith. We were featured in Variety, TechCrunch, IGN, SyfyWire, Dailymotion, CGNet, and more! The interviews are super funny and each one is a unique performance. Then, in realtime, they would interview Ninja Turtles Mikey and Donnie and discuss all things pizza and crime-fighting (as well as issues like gentrification and even dating!). Journalists were invited to join Nickelodeon at the Hard Rock Hotel where they would slip on a VR headset and find themselves atop a rooftop in New York City. To introduce the new Nickelodeon series Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a press junket was held at San Diego Comic-Con…but not just any press junket… VR Press Junket at at San Diego Comic-Con! (Realtime 2D Puppets + VR) We explored new ways of storytelling using Adobe Character Animator. As a Creative Director at Nickelodeon I developed and led the Alternative Media team.
